Allied American Health has been a healthcare credentialing and certification agency for over 20 years. They work with the U.S State Departments of Education to provide these services for over 10 different health career vocational pathways, including phlebotomy. There are over 50,000 AAH members across all 50 states and 30 overseas countries.

Eligibility to sit for the exam:
To be eligible for the AAH CPT exam, an applicant needs to meet the following criteria:
- Completion of related courses or training programs, or
- One year's work experience in the field, or
- Relevant military training, or
- Previously certified by another agency.
If the applicant meets these criteria, they must submit Proof of Eligibility Documentation to their profile.
- Copy of either school transcript, diploma, or certificate, or
- Letter from employer indicating job title and length of employment, or
- Check stub indicating job title and hire date, or
- DD Form 214 (for military personnel), or
- Member ID/Certification# from previous certification agency
Review and approval of documentation material usually takes 1-2 business days. After this has occurred, the applicant is eligible to take the exam

California, Louisiana, Nevada, and Washington are the only states requiring state-level certification/licensure. All other states require certain training requirements, but generally speaking, holding a national certification is usually sufficient for most states and employers.
Renewal information:

Certificate renewal is on an annual basis, costing a $32 fee. Members need to take 5.0 CE credits each year to renew. Renewal for expired certificates varies, ranging from an additional $20 late fee if within 30 days, to $100 renewal fee if over a year. If the certificate has been expired for over 36 months, the member has to re-register and retake the exam.
